Tattoo Junkee Liquid Lipstick + Glitter Kit

It is a liquid lipstick and a glitter for $7. I picked mine up at Walgreens but you can also buy them here:

I got them in shades: 'Skinny Dip,' 'Bubble Gum,' & 'Pucker Up.'

Skinny Dip is a (I hate using this reference but people get it) Kylie Jenner shade, neutral brown shade and comes with a copper glitter. The second color is a wearable light pink that comes with a iridescent silver lilac glitter. The last is a true red lipstick with red glitter.

They can be worn alone as liquid lipsticks or layered together to create that glitter lip.
Let me just say that I love these.
This product claims to be long-lasting, smudge-proof, and to dry matte. This does all three beautifully. This product seriously lasts all day. It is very drying on the lips, I won't lie.  It has a true liquid lipstick formula.

To create the glitter lip you apply the liquid lipstick then press the glitter on top of it before the liquid lip dries. I find that it is easier to not do the whole lips at once. I will do the whole top lip before moving on to the second. I do want to say that glitter lip is not comfortable on the lips, you feel it on your lips the whole time you are wearing it. Also, I would not recommend eating with the glitter on your lips, I find you will end up eating glitter. Which is not as glamorous as it may sound. More often than not I'm just going to opt to wear the matte lipstick alone. The glitter lip can be fun just not that wearable for me. But I have used the glitter as eye shadow and I want to attempt the glitter brow trend with these suckers. I find it to be a good solid glitter that can be used for anything you could any glitter for.

Glitter and a liquid lipstick, what more could a girl ask for?!

Wearing 'Skinny Dip' alone on my lips.
Wearing 'Skinny Dip' alone on my lips. With the glitter that comes with the kit in my inner corners.

I am wearing the 'Bubble Gum' shade with the matching glitter layered over.

You get the point, this product is worth the $7.

Laura Geller Gilded Honey Highlighter Review

I have heard so much about this highlighter and I've been anxious to try it! So when I had a gift card to Ulta, I was able to justify the price and picked this up! And I do not regret it one bit! It totally lived up to the hype. I love this highlighter! The golden hue that it gives the face is so flattering on my skin when I have at least a little bit of a tan going. I know that the range has other colors but this is the only one that I have personally tried. This shade wouldn't work for every skin tone. When I don't have a good tan going, it is a little too dark. I would assume it would be ashy on deep skin tones as well but I don't personally know. The formula is so creamy and pigmented. It wears on the skin beautifully. You can really pile on this product for that glow that can be seen from space or it can also be worn sheered out. Both ways look beautiful. This has been the only highlighter I have wanted to use ever since I picked it up! If you want to spend the money on a high-end highlighter, this would be my number one recommendation. Also, it doesn't hurt that the packaging is adorable!

I did https://www.instagram.com/letutus/ makeup a couple weeks back and used this highlight on her. I loved the way that this looked on her!

I am also wearing this highlight in my 70's makeup look! You can check out this post here:

That golden glow! I can't get enough of it!

Top 5 Favorite Dugstore Nude Lipsticks

These are my top 5 favorite nude lipsticks picks from the drugstore! They range in shades and finishes. I will be talking in-depth about each below! I'm going to be going from the lightest to darkest.

This color I find that I can't wear it alone on my skin-tone. This is a light beige color. I find can wash my face out if I wear it alone. But the reason I'm mentioning in a favorites is because I like to use this shade to lighten the center of my lips. To either lighten up a darker lipstick or to make them look more full. Either layered over a darker lip-liner or lipstick. I talk about this technique in my most recent YouTube video. You can use this technique with a shimmery shade or any lighter shade. You can watch it here:

Anyways the formula of these NYX LipSmacking Lipsticks are nice. Not my absolute favorite but worth the money. They have a lot of pigment and this particular shade has a glossy look to it.
p.s. I found a shade since taking these pictures that I would recommended over this lipstick if you are looking for a shade that can be worn alone. It is Makeup Revolution Amazing Lipstick 'Nude Love'. This shade has more peach in it than the NYX one and more a sheer formula. But I find this shade very wearable. And it is only $3! Can't beat that!

This lipstick is a pretty dang light shade. It very similar to the NYX one above. But I find that I can wear this one all on its own if I want. It also is a light beige color but it has a tiny bit more pink and is ever so darker. These two things make it slightly more wearable. This is such a comfortable lip color it feels like I am wearing a lip balm. And it has a nice shiny finish.

The fist two I talked about were light warm shades. This lipstick has a very cool under tone to it. It's a taupe color; it does have a slight gray look to it. Which is surprisingly flattering! This shade is an uncommon shade and but still wearable. It's a really fun color, I like it.  These lipstick are also so great, the pigmentation is outstanding! It has a satin finish.

This is a fairly old picture of me wearing this lipstick, if you were curious what this shade looks like on.

All of the lipsticks I have talked about have had a satin or shiny finish. So the last two I'm going to be talking about are Matte but both super comfortable. These Maybelline lipsticks are sooo good, I have a post about them here:
I would highly recommend the Maybelline lipsticks!! I love this shade, it is such a wearable color, it has a lot of warmth to it. So it doesn't wash me out because it has some color to it. It is just a very flattering shade and I love the formula.

*Warning the following is more a rant than about this actual lipstick* This is the only liquid lipstick that I am talking about today. And that is because I don't love a lot of liquid lipsticks from the drugstore, I prefer classic lipsticks from the drugstore. I feel like the drugstore could use some more improvement in the liquid lipstick department. A lot of times even when they come out with matte liquid lipsticks they don't even dry matte. Which isn't a bad thing, just don't label it as matte if it's not matte. (Side note: I bought some liquid lipstick from Walgreens that I am LOVING, blog post coming soon!) Personally no matter drugstore, highend, or in between I would probably still pick a typical lipstick.
Anyways. I love this lipstick formula. It drys matte, is super duper comfortable on the lips, pigmented and lasts along time. What a perfect liquid lipstick should be! Also this shade has quite a bit of color to it. So is not a super nude color but its still on the neutral light side so I wanted to include it in this list. It has a warm tone and slightly mauve. This shade is ultra flattering and I would highly recommend if straight up nudes intimidate you, to give this a go! I love shades like this for day to day wear. And I am personally drawn to shade like this. I love it!

I feel that nude lipsticks are not a one size fits all type item. Shades can look different on different lips. Some shades flatter skin tones better than others. I do find a lot of this can be trial and error, I just wanted to share that shades that work for me and I love. If you have any questions or want some other recommendations leave them below. Or you could ask me on Instagram:seizethelook.by.c
I would recommend checking me out on there if you haven't already! Have a great day!

Colour Pop Haul

I recently bought some items from Colour Pop and gave them to Abbi as a late birthday gift. It's great have a fellow makeup lover as a best friend because she gets me and my obsession. Also she understands the swatch life. And new makeup means swatches and review!

The Ulta Satin Lips are $6, the eye shadows are $5, and the highlighter costs $8. These products are very affordable and can only be purchased from https://colourpop.com/ and you can get a $5 dollar off coupon with your first purchase.

The larger of the shadows is a face highlight in the shade 'Monster.' The 3 other shadows are all metallic super shock eye shadows. The neutrally gold shade is 'Fringe.' The blue shadow is called 'Sugar' and the peach shade is 'Tea Party.' If you are not familiar with their shadow, then you would not know that they have a very interesting texture. It is difficult to describe because its unique, I have never found another makeup product with the same formula. They have a squishy soft formula, I would describe them as a mix between a powder and cream eye shadow. They can be worn alone or as a base worn under other powder eye shadow. These are best applied with your finger tips or with a synthetic brush, aka: a brush not made with animal hair, which all of my brushes are synthetic so that's easy for me.

I do really enjoy the texture and the formula. However I do feel that some of these shades are more pigmented than others. The peachy shade, 'Tea Party' was my least favorite, I felt that it took a lot to build up the pigment. These shadows do layer nicely but with the 'Tea Party,' it was hard to get it true to color. I really enjoyed both of the other shades. My favorite of these 3 is the blue shade 'Sugar.' It is a fun summery pop of color!

The pink shade on the left is a face highlight. And when I first swatched it I thought it would only work as an eye shadow because it has so much pink to it. But on the face it has a nice iridescence to it so it gave a nice highlighted effect. It was surprisingly wearable. I also think it is best applied with a brush. I used the elf blush brush and really enjoyed the effect.

The lip products are the Ulta Satin Lip. The orange red is in the shade 'Cozy' and the mauve shade is in the shade 'Dopey.'  These are not your typical liquid lipstick because they do not dry matte, hence the 'Satin' in the title. They are extremely comfortable and do not dry out the lips at all. On the flip side they are not transfer proof but I think its worth it for such a comfortable lip color. These might be one of my favorite lip products I have ever used for they are so pigmented and last a long time.

All in all I am loving these ColourPop items and think they are definitely worth the money. Even if they were higher priced I would still think they are worth the money. They also have a huge selection of lip products, eye shadows, cheek colors, etc. so a browse through their website is always a good time. Just maybe not for your wallet. 10/10 would recommend.

Red Summer Glam

This summer look is by my best friend Abbi. I am totally in love with these pictures and look. It is completely different from something I have ever done. It was so fun teaming up. All editing, photography, hair, and makeup credit goes to her! To start she groomed the brows and used ABH Brow Definer in "Medium Brown" to give a bolder brown than usual. She then concealed around the brow using Urban Decay concealer in the shade "Light-Neutral". For the eye she used brown shadeds from my Lorac Pro palette and "Morocco" from ABH. She did something totally different and did a red lip liner (in the shade "Perfect Red" from Too Faced) for my eyeliner then used "Morocco" again to blend the liner. Tape was used to create a precise edge and is an awesome trick to really make this look work. She then lined the lower lash line using the same colors as the lid to make an ombre effect. The top lash line was lined with black liner from Marc Jacobs. Moving onto the face- she applied Nivea Men's Post Shave Balm as a primer to start. Then for foundation she used the Nars All Day Luminous in the shade "Barcelona". (funny story, we dropped the packaging of the foundation then used a beauty blender to pick it up off the ground and apply it to my face because no makeup can go to waste, especially not Nars!!) She then concealed under the eyes and in the T-Zone with her Urban Decay concealer in the shade "Light-Neutral" She contoured my nose and cheek bones with the Wet n' Wild Contouring Duo. Of course she baked after using Cotty Airspun Loose Powder to make the contour really pop. She then highlighted using my Laura Geller highlight in "Gilded honey". Last but of course not least, she used Colour Pop's Ultra Satin Lip in the color "Cozy"!

That 5 page essay ^ pretty much sums up the look!
Anyways I loved this look and it was so summery and fun!

Wet n Wild; Wild Summer Collection 2016

This collection is limited edition to summer of 2016. There is highlighters, nail polish, and liquid lipstick. I ended picking up all of the cream highlighters and one liquid lipstick. There is also a powder highlighter that I was on the hunt for but could never find! I ended really liking the cream highlighters so it's okay! Originally the highlighters were $4 but I got them for half price at Walgreens.  The liquid lipstick was $3 which I also got for half price.

Shades left to right: "Marigold Round", "Light Up My High-Biscus", "Carnational Anthem"

Right now I am loving the the pink shade. These highlighters are so creamy and pigmented. I was very impressed! Wet n Wild has definitely stepped up their game. My favorite way to wear these highlighters is under the foundation to give a glowing from within look. There is definitely a shade that would work for every skin tone. If you have darker skin the deeper shades will work as a perfect highlight. And if you have a lighter skin tone the darker shades work as a glowy blush. The highlighters also work great as a cream eyeshadow. I also like wearing this as a lip color. It's not super long wearing but it gives a fun summer look, specifically the orange shade the orange shade!

In the video, I talk about using prodcuts as a pop of brightness. I find that this product can be used for all 3 of the techniques I talk about in the video!

The metallic liquid lipstick was definitely an impulse buy. It is in the shade "Indigo Your Own Way". I pretty much picked up this shade because I was curious to see how I would look in it, plus metallic lipstick is really in style this summer and I'm liking that trend a lot (if it's done correctly)! This one however wasn't overly metallic, it didn't have any glitter in it which I was fine with. I was just expecting it to be more. WARNING: This liquid lipstick does not dry matte and I was definitely expecting it to. It can slip out of your lip line and it transfers really easily. But the two things I really like about this product are the applicatior and the shade was  suprisingly flattering. The applicatior has a really nice wand that has a dent in it that hugs the lips for easy application. I honestly wish more liquid lipsticks had this wand.

If you see either the cream or powder highlights definitely pick them up! If there is a liquid lipstick that catches your eye I would get it to try but other than that with the lipstick you're not missing much.
Overall Wet n' Wild has definitely impressed me from their brushes to their finishing spray. Plus the prices are always unbeatable! I'm planning on doing more post I would recommend from Wet n' Wild because they might be becoming my favorite drug store brand believe it or not.
